We’re taught how to get a job.
How to work hard.
How to provide.

But very few of us are shown how to:

Create options beyond a single income

Or intentionally design the life we want

I know this because I didn’t learn it early either. I was a late bloomer. Not because I lacked ambition — but because I didn’t have the guidance, conversations, or exposure that teach you how money works, how business works, or how to think beyond the traditional path.

Leaving a sheltered life in a small country town , at the age of 15, I moved to Brisbane to commence work in the Banking industry. Life dealt me some major blows early on as I lost my father to suicide and my marriage ended in divorce

I worked. I did my best. I showed up.

But it took time — and lived experience — to realise that working harder inside one system doesn’t automatically create freedom, options, or security.

What I learned later in life is what I now wish I had understood earlier:

Skills matter more than titles

Mindset matters more than motivation

And having more than one way to earn is not risky — it’s responsible

That realisation changed everything.

Relying on a single income used to be normal. Today, it’s fragile.

One of the biggest lessons I learned later in life is the value of building options — not overnight, and not recklessly, but intentionally and over time.

Multiple income streams aren’t about greed.

They’re about:

Stability

Choice

And future-proofing your life

This opportunity opened my eyes to what’s possible when you stop seeing income as a single lane and start seeing it as something you can learn to build.
